Who you are dealing with

PageScouter is a product of Monsolut AB, a company registered in Sweden, organisationsnummer 559303-9265, with its registered office in Kungsbacka. Monsolut AB is the party you contract with, the party that invoices you, and the data controller for the personal data PageScouter holds. What this does and does not promise

PageScouter watches web pages and tells you when they change. It is a tool that reduces how often you check a page by hand. It is not a guarantee that you will be told about every change, and it should not be the only thing standing between you and a deadline.

Will PageScouter catch every change?

No, and no monitor can. Checks run on an interval, so a page that changes and then changes back between two checks looks unchanged to us. Shorten the interval on the pages where that would matter.

How quickly will I hear about a change?

Within one check interval — from every five minutes to once a day, depending on your plan. Set the pace per monitor: most pages do not need watching every five minutes, and the ones that do are worth paying for.

Are there pages it cannot monitor?

Yes. Some sites block automated requests outright, some need a login, and some change on every single load — timestamps, adverts, session tokens — which looks like constant change. The browser extension handles the first two by capturing the page in your own session; ignore rules handle the third.

What happens if a check stops working?

You are told. A monitor that cannot be checked shows as stopped, and so does a whole account whose checks we have paused. A monitor that looks like it is running when it is not is the worst thing a tool like this can do, so we would rather show you a problem than a reassuring silence.

Can I rely on it for a legal or contractual deadline?

Treat it as an assistant, not the system of record. PageScouter is built to cut down how often you check a page by hand — it is not a guarantee that you will be told, and anything with a deadline attached deserves a second pair of eyes.

Using it responsibly

Monitor pages you are allowed to look at. The browser extension captures pages using your own logged-in session, which means it acts as you and reaches exactly what you could reach yourself — so the permission you need is the permission you already have. Do not use PageScouter to get around a site's access controls, and do check the terms of any site you point it at: some prohibit automated access, and that is between you and them.

Please also keep the load reasonable. Checking a page every five minutes is fine; pointing hundreds of monitors at one small site is not, and we may slow or stop checks that are causing a problem for somebody else's server.

Your data

What the service stores, for how long, and who can see it is set out in the privacy policy. In short: your monitored URLs and captured page content are yours, they are not sold or shared, and you can export or delete them.

Changes

The product changes, and so will these terms. Material changes will be told to account holders by email rather than quietly swapped in, and the date at the top of this page always says when it last moved.

Law

Swedish law applies, and the courts of Sweden have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
